Ingredients:
- 2 cups butternut squash, diced
- 8 oz macaroni pasta
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs optional
Instructions:
Warm the oven up to 190C 375F
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, and then follow the directions on the package to cook the macaroni
Remove the water and set it aside
Cook bacon in a pan until it gets crispy
Take it out of the pan and set it aside
Put butter in the same pan and melt it over medium-low heat
Put in the diced butternut squash and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until it's soft
Put flour on the squash and mix it around to cover it
Go on and cook for two more minutes
Slowly add the milk while stirring the mixture all the time until it gets thick
Add the crumbled cheddar cheese and mix it in until it melts and is smooth
Add pepper and salt to taste
To the cheese sauce, add cooked macaroni and bacon bits
Combine well by mixing
Put the mixture in a baking dish
If you want, you can sprinkle breadcrumbs on top
After the oven is hot, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden and bubbly
Enjoy while hot!
